Where to stay in Campos do Jordão – Castelo Hanisch

Where to stay in Campos do Jordao

Campos do Jordão is the highest city in my beloved Brazil and known as the Brazilian Switzerland. Located 1,628 m (5,341 ft) above sea level, it takes about 2,5 hours drive to get there from Sao Paulo. With German architecture style and cool climate, Campos do Jordão attracts many tourists in the winter season (from June to August). The landscape is beautiful and there’s so much to see. On this article I’ll start with our suggestion of where to stay in Campos do Jordao.

Location: very well located! It’s just 1.5 km from the lively Capivari area in Campos do Jordão. It’s in front of the Bosque do Silêncio, and 200 meters from the Ducha de Prata waterfall, one of the city’s main sights.

Sleep quality: being of front of Bosque do Silêncio (Silence Grove) already reflects how quiet is the surroundings. I had great nights of sleep. Besides, staying in a castle is everyone’s dream, right?

The room: we stayed in the Super Luxo Suíte on the 3rd floor. Super large apartment with a panoramic bay-window overlooking the “Silence Grove” (Bosque do Silêncio). There’s a heater in the room and another one in the bathroom with the amazing hot tub. There’s a queen size bed and outlets all over the room. Cosy and practical décor. They feature a seating area, minibar, telephone and a flat-screen smart TV with Netflix. The spacious bathroom includes a shower, a variety of bathroom amenities and hair dryer. The free WiFi was working properly in our room.

Service: in this German-style hotel you can count on an indoor heated pool and sauna. There’s a fitness area and free parking lot. The breakfast is served from 8:30 to 12:00, always offering varieties in cakes, breads, fruits and juices. Also, there’s an afternoon tea with cake served every day.

The staff is very helpful and kind! They were always offering tips on things to do in the city.

You can also count on free WiFi, bike rental, a pool table, kids area, books, board games and SPA services.

Cleanliness: everything was very clean and tidy.

Differentials: the heated pool was definitely a plus! Location, comfort and the quality of customer services made us feel like we’re at home.

Cost-benefit: think of staying in a “castle” and paying the equivalent of a regular hotel in Campos do Jordão… Castelo Hanisch offers the comfort of a great hotel with very cozy atmosphere for a very reasonable price.
