Vienna was voted in AUG/18 for the first time and now owns the title of the most livable city. Melbourne owned this title for seven years! Well, being in Vienna in MAY/18 we could definitely confirm it’s true! Vienna suits everybody, has activities that suits every age and every mood. Also, it’s always important have a suggestion such as where to stay in Vienna. If you need this information, this post is for you! 🙂
Our 2018 eurotrip was fantastic! We visited 9 countries and these cities: Madrid, Malta, Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Krakow, Malmo, Copenhagen and Toledo. Austria was the fifth destination.
Where to stay in Vienna:
Location: located a few steps away from the mainline station plus walking distance from many attractions made our life much easier. We bought a metro 3 day ticket so we could take unlimited number of trains. Fantastic! We saved a lot of time doing that because after been passed through 4 other countries before we were a bit tired of walking all day. We were able to rest a bit while in the trains. 😛
This mainline station is huge and you can count on restaurants there, also Cafes, souvenir stores and many more. It definitely looks like a shopping mall! In short, the location was perfect for us!
Sleep quality: when you pick a 4 star hotel it’s obvious you want some peace when you’re going to get some sleep, right? Well, it couldn’t be better at Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof. Despite of being very close to the mainline station, the window was soundproof and I could sleep very well, mostly due to the gorgeous bed that makes you feel being hugged.
The room: very comfortable, quite spacious and beautiful. Is it only me that feels uncomfortable when the place is not in good appearance? I value a nice design, making me think that someone really cares if the guests will enjoy the decor and things like that. The beauty is in the details. Who agree? 🙂
By now those who follow us a long time already know we spend quite some time in the room working hours and hours. So we love when we find a nice desk for getting the job done. There were enough sockets for charging our devices and we could count on free wifi, flat screen tv, mini-bar, safe, Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobe & slippers. Besides the bathroom was properly equipped with a hairdryer and nice amenities.
Service: you can check in from 15h00 and check out up to 12h00. There’s a 24/7 reception with outstanding staff & you can count on parking, laundry, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, wifi, small kids play area and currency exchange. It’s a 100% non-smoking hotel and your pets are welcome! If you enjoy exercising, they have a fitness centre and bike rack facilities. Besides, there’s a sauna, restaurant, bar, a self service business centre, 8 meeting rooms and a copy/print service available as well. The breakfast was fabulous, btw!
Cleanliness: the room and all facilities were very clean all the time. There’s a daily housekeeping service.
Differentials: the location and excellent hospitality services, make Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof a great option of hotel in Vienna for a fair price.
Cost-benefit: if you’re looking for a great hotel, very comfortable and well located, this is definitely your place!
Staying at Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof was great because we were traveling for 20 days already so we were very tired (but happy, of course!). Basically comfort and location were two basic needs we were looking for and this hotel offers much more! That’s why it’s our recommendation of where to stay in Vienna. What about you, what do you look for when choosing a hotel?
